The newly refurbished Finnair Lounge International Terminal or Non-Schengen Terminal, is divided into two separate lounge: Finnair Premium Lounge over 400 sqm and Finnair Lounge 900sqm. The Finnair Premium Lounge is only eligible for Finnair Plus Gold status and Platinum status. Silver status gets entry to the normal Finnair Lounge. OneWorld alliances also enjoy the same treatment.
I happened to be Gold status, was ushered to this Premium Lounge instead of the ordinary Finnair Lounge which I am accustomed to. I had no idea their renovation had even completed. The futuristic entrance with bright ceiling light caught my attention. On the inside its smaller compare to the original one but I suppose perks would be less crowd to enjoy privacy. The layout and furnishing are futuristic Scandinavian design especially with the play on mood lighting.
The spread of the buffet was nothing out of the ordinary, perhaps the only reasoning was my midnight flight. I had a quick bite of the Waldorf salads. The Finnair Premium Lounge boast a private shower and Finnish Sauna which is something you do not see everyday at an airport lounge. I find it very unique, given that its a well known fact that Finnish people loves their saunas.
