The Franciscan Church and Monastery is a large complex belonging to the Order of the Friars Minor. It consists of a monastery, a church, a library and a pharmacy. It is situated on the main street of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Within the the Old City of Dubrovnik sits the Franciscan Monastery is a must visit. Its the oldest pharmacy is indeed an aged wonder–it’s the third oldest in all of Europe and the oldest pharmacy still in use on the continent today. Originally opened in 1317, the Old Pharmacy has been in operation for over 700 years. It’s not just working as a historic sight-to-see nowadays. Great souvenirs available for purchase like face cream and scented water made by the monk of the monastery. I personally love the rosemary kreme.

Within the pharmacy, displayed original items, like clay bowls, ancient lab equipment, cross and medical books, are on display in the monastery museum, yet the containers set on its shelves are still in their original spots and date back to the 15th century. There is entrance ticket to the monastery museum for 20 HRK a person.
