This famous cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture on which
construction began in the 12th century, stands on the Île de la Cité and
is the symbolic heart of the city. he cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and it is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture.
The queue was pretty long to get in, but the line moved rather quickly.
It was worth the wait though, and you can admire the external
architecture while waiting to go inside.
