Tenryu-ji Temple is much nicer to visit during Autumn season where the leaves are bright red and amber color. I was there during Winter season, hence quite a dull garden to be in. Overall the Japanese kept it well attended makes it a bit worthwhile to enter. I enter the temple because its a shortcut to the heart of Arashiyama Bamboo Grove!

InsideKyoto site "Make your way slowly uphill and away from the main hall and then exit the garden/temple by the north gate. A quick left from here will bring you right into the heart of Arashiyama’s famous Bamboo Grove."
