The Pinacoteca di Brera is the main public gallery for paintings in Milan, Italy. It contains one of the foremost collections of Italian paintings, an outgrowth of the cultural program of the Brera Academy, which shares the site in the Palazzo Brera.
Some very special works in a very beautiful building with a lovely courtyard. I was pleased to see a work by Montegna here. Seeing the painting and it's approach to perspective outside of an art history book was a delight indeed. I also enjoyed viewing rooms where art was restored and rooms that housed worked in storage and not on display.
