I actually walked passed this restaurant without noticing it. It finally hit me that I was around the corner, I stepped in to see if its full, there were two other patron in the queue. I quickly joined the queue as they were notoriously fame for long queue.
The menu is full on Japanese, the staff speak little english.
I had no choice but to show images of what I want to order based on the other blogs' review.
Apparently all soba are made in-house.
Lucky for me, got seated after 15 mins waiting in line. My favorite is the Kamo Soba (Duck Soba) Yen1600 only. The broth is full body and intensify duck flavor. The Zaru Soba (basic) is equally good and most salaried man order just that.
The owner and wife even greeted me goodbye, probably I over ordered and still wiped all the bowl clean =)
A hidden gem in Kyoto.
