Huvafen Fushi was beyond my wildest dream resort. It was overwhelming to be there!
A MAGICAL PARADISE! Pristine beaches, well kept pedestrian walkway. All bushes and leaves are trim and clean thoroughly till spotless. Finest white sands, turquoise blue sea water....

The in-house reef are full of sea life! Its one of the best island reefs to snorkel in, literally just 5 mins swim into the Indian ocean from the beach. Be ready to encounter sharks, stingrays, sea cucumber, big fishes, small fishes and Nemo of course! If you happen to stop by the Oceanpedia, Nicole or Hamid will let you know more details where you can snorkel to see preferred sea creatures.

Feeding the stingrays was the highlight of my trip to Huvafen Fushi (also probably why I chose this resort after reading multiple reviews), I went to meet the stingrays almost everyday at 6:30pm on island time. It was amazing to feed them and rub them. Although I smell fishy at the end of the day, It was worth it. Spot some wild life living on the island as well.

The room is spacious, high ceilings, bose speakers indoor and outdoor, super king size bed, very clean and towel change twice a day, replenished any amenities you used, bathtub with a view, rainshower and 2 basin in every toilet. Bottled waters are supplied daily and full fledged of nespresso capsules and revolve teas are replenished daily, so no need to bring your own carton of water bottles.

For those who always send postcards during holiday, at The Lair, you can grab the in house postcards and write as many as you want, Huvafen Fushi will mail it for you complimentary! I had a swell time writing postcards to all my friends & families that I could possibly remember their addresses.

Activities on the island are full of options, activities that you need to pay are parasailing, dolphin watching, underwater spa massage, hangout at sunset deck/bar, big game fishing, snorkel with guide, private hire to diving trips, dhoni hiring, jetski, night guide snorkeling, private sandbanks lunch etc etc

Activities on the island that are free, Kayaking, Snorkeling without guide at a few marked location with colored buoy out at open sea (snorkeling equipment will be issued to you upon arrival), Shopping , Renting movies from the LAIR or entertainment centre, plenty of books or magazine at the Lair, Latest iMac to use at the library to load pictures etc etc, game room for kids eg. xbox, ps3, board games, swimming in the main infinity pool, Floatation sea water pool, well equipped gym, sauna & steam rooms, sun beds through the island and many more.

Food standard & quality is quite good, BREAKFAST is my favorite meal on the island,
from Chef hand cut fruits station, eggs station, pancake, waffle, to countless of freshly squeeze juices, to savory dishes, to patisseries and chacuteries. There is also breakfast ala carte menu to order from. eg. eggs florentine to croque madame. ALL ARE DAMN GOOD! My favorite was Avocados on Toast!

You will enjoy your breakfast in Celsius, the restaurant is so vast, spacious and even indoor, you get to sit and walk on sands. YES! Fine SANDS. Some guest just walk around barefoot, which i thought it was really cool or unique since we are literally on Island Life!

Theme nights at Celsius was decent, Maldivian night boast 7 types of curry, I was stuffed, Salt restaurant is quite upscale fine dining and you get to spot sharks roaming around the restaurant if you are lucky, Personally I think food is very subjective based on preference anyway but for me the ambiance, scenic 360s degree view and overall experience really made up for the exorbitant priced food. Theme nights at Celsius features Wednesday Seafood BBQ too. Read Cardamom Private Chef dinner here.

Upon arrival, I received welcome drink, Mami was my Thakuru (butler assigned to us) She is very helpful, cheerful and sweet. Highly recommend her to be requested as your butler!

The speed boat ride was smooth 30 mins, We had to wait a while at Burger King within the airport compound before being transported to the island from the airport which was disappointing, as I walked pass Anantara Resort which had its own lounge at the airport before transporting their guest to the respective resorts. However, they did prepare a bottle of champagne, a big bowl of tropical fruits, a small snacks platter in our room to welcome us! which was really nice touch!!!

Our departing flight was at 10:25pm and was worried how we had to spend our day after check out, instead of making us check out, they let us stay in another lagoon bungalow until 8:30pm at no extra charge!

The best time to visit is NOW onwards, because they just repainted and refitted the roof of all the water bungalows.

Honestly, there are too much good things to share about this resort, but the key points are mentioned so you don't have to search high and low for more info like Reefs, sea life populations, activities that are f.o.c. and food options. Prices of their activities are on their website, menu of their food are pdf downloadable on their website as well.

I miss Huvafen Fushi already, I truly wanna go back as soon as I can.
